
I mean, just because you have a certain attraction that’s “norm”, doesn’t mean you’ll get away with love. Even if the relationship is straight, different social standings, ethnicities, religion, etc. can very much make it hard to express your love safely. A lot of people feel judgement from society for things in a relationship outside gender and sexuality.
yeah and there are tons of queer people who cosplay struggles, but it’s still not nearly enough people doing that to be generalizing like this. i think we forget that far more people are going to struggle with forbidden relationships due to things like race, religion, culture, and politics than attraction just based on pure numbers alone. an entire generation is alive today who watched interracial marriage become legalized. the whole deep south will ostracize you for not being christian
