I mean it’s not fair that you have to go through that but she isn’t in the wrong. I have family like that who take it out on anyone. My mom for instance kicked me out in highschool because she found out my friend is trans. You have no idea how her mom may act and it’s probably best to go along with it to a reasonable degree.

Crazy thought for her but maybe she shouldn’t have her mother over. That is 1000% a boundary that you have every right to put down and she should respect <33

She’s a controlling and transphobic asshole. If she was nice then I’d have no problem with it, but I’m so tired of her. She CONSTANTLY misgenders my roommate. A part of me hopes her mom does something so we can file a complaint

I mean telling your roomate that they can’t have a parent over isn’t really a healthy boundary either. That and it’s not like most parents will listen if their daughter says her roommates don’t want her to visit.

No that is definitely a healthy barrier if someone makes you uncomfortable you can say so, and if the parents don’t listen to their daughter say that then they’re in the wrong. It’s really that simple

No it totally is you don’t have to have anyone in the place you LIVE if you don’t want them. It doesn’t matter that it’s a shared space that’s part of what it means to live with other people.

If there’s a danger of “retaliation” then there is absolutely a fair reason for this person to not be allowed over.
