I hate to be that person but they don’t love Shane and ilya because of their queerness, they love them because they’re two conventionally attractive men who fk each other and that, in turn, is fetishized

Same energy as straight men being like “I loooove lesbians if you know what I mean heh heh” and then calling gay men “disgusting”

LITERALLY THIS! I’m so fucking annoyed with the cult like obsession with gay men which always completely overshadow any lesbian or W/W relationships in shows

A fujo can be easy to spot because she loves mlm content but hates wlw content

Literally this I love wlw but there is hardly any wlw media and it makes me so sad

Straight women can fetishize mlm media, but they won’t do it to wlw media.

I’d love to watch season 5 to support the wlw agenda, unfortunately I hate period pieces and don’t think I would possibly get through seasons 1-4

They never said queer tho they said gay/bi

nah, tons of fujoshi also love yuri. I can tell you this very confidently because my social circle overlaps with theirs by nature of being a bisexual with nerdy interests

Queer is being used as an encompassing term here.

Tf you mean I guess that is clearly the intention of OP. Theyre not erasinf gay and bi men, they explicitly stating those women who fetishize them “love” their particular queerness but not another sapphic example.

Calm down a lil. I just don’t get why we never say gay anymore

“Calm down a lil” you are not important enough to get me upset dude, and what are you the gay police? They can say queer.

No it’s not bc they’re actors being adored, not women being sexualizes and fetishized and objectified. Not the same energy.

Yeah, I didn’t watch bc I can’t stand seeing such sexism that comes with being back in time. It’s bad enough today, it just gets worse in the past! Also, bc it would surely all be straight, but I see that’s not the case anymore so cool lol

I was just joking like how people used to least call things the gay agenda if it had anything to do with lgbtq+, like back in day 2010s

They’re gay men being sexualized and objectified by straight women. Watering this behavior down to just being “adored” is gross

When women sexualize men, it’s not from a place of hate, insecurity, hostility and violence. When lesbians are sexualized by straight man, it is all of those things. There is a difference. Don’t catch a tone with me tf.

And tbh, what is gross is you comparing THIS to how lesbians are treated in society by men and in general considering the fetishization of lesbians and women. How blind are you. Get a clue.

I think you’re confusing yourself. #12’s original point was commenting on how straight people objectify queer folk in the media, then IRL are disgusted by their life style because it’s not “normal” or “hetero” Your reply saying they are being “adored” is nonsense. If you read my comment (very top), our issue is that they’re being objectified for being two conveniently attractive gay men who have s*x with each other. Not because they’re good actors. #13’s reply back to you is just reinforcing it

The straight woman who fetishize the show aren’t watching it from an ally perspective, or an admiration of the actin perspective, it’s simply a “hot gay guys having s*x” perspective.

Okay…. The point is that someone decided to compare it to how lesbians are fetishized by straight men. THAT IS THE POINT. and it’s incredible ignorant and disrespectful to compare that, bc to be frank, the way lesbians are treated by men is WAY worse than how gay men were ever treated by women…. And if you can’t see that… wow

Anonymous replying to -> #3 3w

Okay, and that is NOT comparable to how lesbians are objectified and fetishized. So nobody should have said anything about lesbians, bc it is not even close to as bad as how lesbians are treated and they wanna make an ignorant comparison like that.

#4 is the one who made the ignorant comment comparing the widespread, hateful, fetishization of lesbians to straight women innocently watching gay male media. It is not even close to the same thing.

I mean the upvotes on #4’s post and my post say it all. You’re the only person taking up a problem with it. Downvote me if you want, but you’re over analyzing and aren’t even attempting to understand the correlation. Have a good day, #12

Also, before I stop replying, I do want to bring to your attention that the straight women watching the show told Hunter (the one actor) to end his life because he actually IS gay and is the only openly gay actor on the show. A gay man was also verbally assaulted and kicked out of a bar by a group of straight women bc the bar was having a HR showing and they didn’t feel safe with a man there. That is heinous. Objectification is objectification and is terrible no matter the situation

Maybe let’s stop trying to uphold lesbians while putting down gay men. We should be sticking together as we’re all a minority and we’re all being affected by the current state of the world. Thanks!
