The FDA is so fucking useless, American food is terrible, drugs too, the FDA created an obesity epidemic and takes money to lesser punishment on recalls for medicine and food businesses, but please…fuck with trans people. Maybe DO YOUR JOB…

Like are they trying to restrict binder companies for offering gender affirming care?

Oh so apparently it’s because Binders a “Class 1 medical device” that they have jurisdiction over, and specifically because these companies are marketing themselves as gender-affirming care for minors. Other binder companies not marketing themselves as such do not have warnings issued, but it feels a little disingenuous?

Our country is an authoritarian state now and is only going to get worse, of course it’s disingenuous

They’re medical devices and marketed as such

But also some Binder companies are questionable so it kinda makes sense

They were going after the reputable ones. Like forthem, flavnt, shapeshifters.... They didn't do Spectrum Outfitters or Underworks though, and apparently Underworks already has FDA approval as it was originally marketed to treat gynecomastia (idk how to spell it oops) in cis men

? It's not bc they're marketed to minors mostly. If you read the quotes they put on their warning letter, pretty much all of them are "hey this binder can help relieve gender dysphoria." Nothing (or at least not much) about minors. They're saying that gender dysphoria is a medical condition and thus the companies must be approved by the FDA
