me trying to rationalize but i don’t get it!! he watches all kinds of anime regardless of whether they’re super sexualized, shows SA, and can discern a message beyond that, but when it comes to queer shows he says “it’s not for him”

let’s be clear guys, this is all new information to me. i think he has hidden his true reasons intentionally, and it has taken me a while to realize how serious he is about it. he played off the heated rivalry thing as not wanting to watch “smut” and compared it to 50 shades and i was like whatever he’s not into romance, then Brokeback mountain i started to get confused because yes it’s sexual but it’s not smut, it’s a tragic (pivotal, award winning) love story

and with leviticus, it was this knee jerk reaction i wasn’t expecting of “i don’t enjoy queer media, especially not erotica and sexual interactions as a “main component”” that made me full stop. because that’s straight up not what that movie is about. as someone who went to a very catholic high school and had a friend ACTUALLY exorcised over coming out, it’s a very interesting movie concept, and set with high schoolers so not even very sexual??
