Nayeon made fun of native Americans. Chaeyoung wore a swastika shirt multiple times and was making a mockery out of going to a WW2 museum. Several of them have mocked desis, worn cornrows and openly been colorist etc.

You are blowing the Chaeyoung thing waaay out of proportion. She wasn’t wearing a shirt with a big ol’ swastika on it, it was a Sid Vicious shirt with a small one. Very easy to miss. Swastikas are a religious symbol in Asia and are still primarily viewed through that lens so it was pretty clearly not done out of malice

Swastikas are literally viewed differently in Asia. Source: I’m Asian. When I was in India there were swastikas all over the place, it was incredibly jarring. But it’s viewed primarily as a religious symbol for Hinduism and Buddhism, not as hate speech. Same when I was in Korea. Hitler literally stole the swastika from these cultures. Trying to frame this as Chaeyoung being a Nazi is an incredibly Eurocentric world view. If you know anything about her that is so clearly far from the truth

Even still, if people are even accusing you of being a n@z1 and your response is “I’m sorry or whatever 😐🙄” we have a huge problem. What normal person who isn’t a n@z1 would respond like that? She had more passion talking about the fan who told Tzuyu her legs were too big like be so fr. That was disgusting of her and it’s disgusting of you to even try to defend it

That’s literally not what happened though. She posted an apology to Insta explaining that she misrecognized the symbol as the traditional religious one commonplace in Asia. She said she wouldnt wear it again… and didn’t. There’s no “whatever” here. What more would you have her do? It’s a legit, clear misunderstanding. There’s not much else someone can do in this circumstance

Because she’s not a Nazi. I asked a question, what should she do after the apology? She made a cultural mistake but it’s not like she was running around using racial slurs targeting people. She fucked up, took accountability, and didn’t do it again. If you don’t wanna forgive her that’s your choice, but deeming her a Nazi because of this is simply incorrect and spreading misinformation.
