i love the movie but hate how the locals idolize it and think it’s a representation of "real" kpop. good on its own as a movie and it has some important underlying themes of the idol industry but i wouldn’t count it as kpop.

I agree with the sentiment you mentioned but also I enjoyed it when it first dropped and it was just kpop Stans seeing what was up and it was actually a decent movie

And the thing is, they kill it. K-pop groups are STILL performing covers of the songs please let it go. And twice hasn’t let up either. My diva feel special has been replaced by takedown like what???

yeah i liked the movie at first i just don’t like hows its become the face of kpop and the general standard. its so much better than that. reminds me of that video of that mom at a twice concert getting upset. “@kpop, this is now what i signed up for” bfrrn
