so why is criticizing the state of israel itself rather than its citizens labeled “antisemitic” when the original Jews were “Semitic” before the Europeans came.

The conflict with Israel has brought these ideas to the forefront. I don’t think it caused it of course but it made it highly ‘relevant’

There is a difference between calling somebody “antisemitic” as in the from of bigotry vs calling them “Semitic” as in the Semitic “race” invented by German race scientists to justify white supremacy. Did you do any research on the word at all other than the definition or are you just weaponizing your incompetence
