I try to remind myself that a portion of these are bots or people paid for content farms to generate controversial propaganda, and that a lot of neo-Nazis these days are people who don’t leave their house much and spend most of their time online, which means they are really disproportionately represented in online comments I’m trying to get better at not replying to it, and just downvoting and blocking the people posting it, but it’s hard sometimes

What does it mean when people say a bot? Like does that mean someone programs something to mass comment? I feel like the comments are always specific to the video. Idk lol that sounds dumb I’m not on social media a lot

These days with AI stuff it is a lot easier for bots that make comments specific to the video, some also copy a comment another account made There was a study last year that showed the majority of web traffic and almost 40% of Internet comments were bots, and that number had only been growing

I am by no means an expert on this, a lot of them are run as part of bot farms and they are made for a variety of purposes including fraud, intelligence operations, corporate sabotage, scams, advancing a political agenda, and many more I’m sure you could find more on it online but I don’t know what the good sources are
