Not at all. You can argue that Britain was colonized by various groups such as the Romans, but Most ppl in Britain have native ancestry whereas in the US less than 1% of ppl do. the biggest difference imo is that the conquered people were fully integrated and treated as equals under the administration. the Americas were a genocide that estimated 80-100 million people. So many that it caused a mini ice age (to be continued)

And US colonization is still ongoing. The tribes that survived had treaties with the US that were and continue to be blatantly ignored. The tribal nations gave been pursuing legal action for many years to sue the government for stealing land that was allocated to tribes in the treaties but they are consistently underfunded and ignored. The culture is still systematically erased and resources intentionally withheld to disadvantage the communities who were forced into reservations

No bc it’s literally not US land. The US signed a treaty agreeing that certain land would be for the tribes (which was already Native Land, under Native Control) most treaties actually ceded tribal land to the US in return for being left in peace. The US broke those treaties. How is that not stolen? Certain land was LEGALLY owned by the tribes as written by the US itself and then the US chose to ignore those treaties

There are literally lawsuits against the US that tribes have won bc certain land was promised to them and was very much stolen but it’s almost impossible to win these cases bc there is an extremely small number of lawyers who care enough about the cause to work hard enough on a relatively low salary

This is an insane take in many ways Treaties are legally binding under international law. It is very absolute how can you say a treaty is a no absolute idea? It’s not just wrong it is ILLEGAL. Saying that the US can do whatever the fuck it wants to do and break laws bc it has the biggest military and nobody can say no is getting into such dangerous territory. No country should be isolationist bc that’s how you end up with no one stopping the Holocaust

The US didn’t give it to them. They gave it to the US. They voluntarily left their land bc they were promised something. America does so much for native Americans?? I live in a city surrounded by reservations. I have to regularly enter one for work and the stark difference between them and the other side of the freeway brings me to tears every time. Crumbling houses and infrastructure. So much neglect. The worst land in the valley. The other side of the highway is just full of mansions and excess. I doubt you’ve ever been to a reservation What fucking rights do they have over us?

Being exempt also means they don’t get a lot of protections that us citizens get. The whole reason tbis is allowed is for hunting for examples some tribes hunt eagles which is illegal. Also no tribe wants casinos it’s extremely bad for the community but they were coerced into this and the main reason casinos are on tribal land often is bc cities don’t want that kind of degeneracy around them

My original statement is that the US is occupying native land. Illegally. Which is true given that they’re occupying land that they signed a contract agreeing belonged to tribes…. Do you think that the art and belongings that were stolen from Jews in the Holocaust should be returned to them or should it stay w the ppl who stole it bc they have more power???
