It’s not far left, more like centrist, but that’s why I’m confused as to why a Green Party candidate would post a far right meme 😭 the liberals are letting their mask fall ig and stopped trying to pretend they’re for the people

Yeah the horseshoe theory is a wildly debunked far right theory lol

The horseshoe theory is a metaphor to simplify how extremes on either end dispose differences in core values arrive at authoritarianism, racism, suppression or personality cults. It’s not disproven. Some would just say it’s an over simplification.

It’s not a metaphor, it’s an actual theory by philosopher Jean-Pierre Faye meant to uplift and whitewash the harms of the right by presenting anti fascist and anti socialist views as destructive as fascism when they are not whatsoever and on completely different sides of the spectrum and result in two completely different results. The left is anti all that, it makes no sense

And look into the numerous studies that debunk it

Sure sure. I’ll stick with it though because it perfectly encapsulates how a far left politician posts the same shit David Dukes the grand wizard of the kkk would.

Again the Green Party is farrr from far left tho. I’d consider it just to the right of the center. True centrist

I’d put the Green Party really close to Bernie style populism

Green Party isn’t listed here and what makes something you made the authority of the position of other spectrums. It doesn’t really confirm anything but a confirmation bias. Especially when your source is yourself. Anyways. Idk why I’m debating this. Political extremism is shit no matter where it falls on the spectrum. No party is free of its own version of extremists with their version of shit things to say.

Ik, read my second reply. It’s right around Bernie Well all scales are gonna have bias and come from a specific political perspective. This is how leftists see the world and our perspective. Liberals usually don’t think or understand that anti capitalism means leftist bc the Overton window is shifted extremely to the right in this country. This is how most of the world sees it. Of course you see it differently that’s why we can’t agree on what’s left and right

Political “extremism” isn’t bad. Capitalism, fascism, racism, class society, imperialism and colonialism is lol. Being extremely against those things doesn’t make you the same as being extremely pro those things. Makes no sense

Your political bias does not change how things fall on the political spectrum. It’s just that your bias. Being so far left that you see the Green Party as center does not change where it actually falls on a standardized scale. Any way this is passed the threshold into being goofy. Idk why I keep replying. I don’t fuck with political extremists.

And you being so far right that you somehow think the Green Party is far left in any way when they’re not even anti capitalist doesn’t change what left and right really means in academia and the rest of the world. The Green Party’s positions are just the baseline basic human rights most other countries have. Bc you’re American and live in a society where the Overton window has shifted to the extreme right you believe that to be the absolute truth, when it’s not. There are no standardized scales

I am in no way far right. This has passed goofy into annoying. Have a nice day.

If you think the Green Party is far left and extremist and believe in the far right horseshoe theory, you’re aligned with maga and republicans on the scale. You are far right even if you’re in denial

Yeah but centrist politicians do all of those exact same things too, none of them are restricted to any political ideology The “horseshoe theory” displaces dynamics throughout the political spectrum and in our society both in and out of politics to specifically political ideologies deemed outside the range of acceptable debate to the speaker, rather than confronting them as overarching problems in our society that need to be tackled both within and outside of politics

The Green Party is like a loose collection for protest votes it’s not a real political project. Some people and ideas in there would be considered “far left” others would be considered to the right of some stuff found in both major parties, it doesn’t have any cohesive and consistent political ideology Like, are you arguing that transphobic conspiracies are somehow far left now? She used to be an elected Democrat and so was her father who also was hella antisemitic
