As I’ve said and seen before: changing definitions of words just dilutes and diminishes the true meaning of the word. Nothing has meaning anymore when everything the left doesn’t agree with is “genocide” and everyone who doesn’t agree with them are “Nazis”. Taking words we made to insult us isn’t new tho.
Because they deny we are Levantine regardless of modern nation states. Deep down, a lot of westerners aren’t anti-Zionist because they oppose Israel, but because they oppose the very idea of Jews existing as an ethnic group. So they need to erase our history and our identity to maintain their stances.
They want Good Little Assimilated Acculturated Jews stripped of any history and ethnic identity. They base their anti-Zionism not on opposing Israel based on action, but by denying that Jews are from the Levant. It is the breed of antiZionism that not only opposes two states, but also opposes a binational state where Jews continue to exist. To them, we all belong ground into the soil of Poland.
Oh I would also like to add that the word diaspora came from the Greek word “διασπείρω” which basically means “to scatter” and was originally used to describe Jews that were exiled during the BC times. One of the first modern usages of the word was used to describe jews as an ethnic group
