Hilarious to me that people actually thought other people were gonna boycott Stranger Things 😂

I’ve been noticing BDS seems to be picking its main targets based on the target’s popularity and not its actual relevance to anything that has to do with Israel or Palestine. Like so many of the biggest boycott pushes are for things that are like so big and vaguely tangentially connected to Israel that it doesn’t make any strategic sense

It says something that they’d boycott over the Jewish kid being a Israel supporter instead of them using Concentration Camps as filming locations

I think they are trying to stay in the conversation online rather than actually start meaningful boycotts

And people who are boycotting keep saying things like “if you don’t have the morality to boycott Stranger Things…” like that is what performative activism is

Yeah I mean that happens on all sides of this, people do performative activism online for really any cause and it’s not usually representative of most of the people they’re on the same side of an issue with

I never said it was representative of everyone I just said it was something I noticed about BDS

Yeah apparently the Russian Prison/Soviet scenes were filmed in Lithuania (which we all know didn’t have a great time during WWII) and the prison they shot in was a former Nazi prison where hundreds of Jewish people would be brutalized and killed.

Technically not a Concentration Camp but still DEFINITELY BAD
