Comments like that always blow my mind. How can they be so confidently incorrect about a country they know virtually nothing about. I really don’t get what it is about Israel that makes people’s brains drop out of their asses. They just parrot the dumbest shit they see on TikTok and never have an interest in checking if it’s remotely true.

Also the “white” Jews that came as refugees from Europe certainly weren’t white enough for the white supremicist there. These schmucks just throw around terminology to fit their narrative. It’s just a thinly vailed attempt to co opt other political movements and copy past it to Israel/ Palestine.

Mizrahim aren’t the dominant Jewish demographic in Israel though, we may be a significant portion of the population there but there has still never been a Mizrahi Prime Minister nor even a single Mizrahi judge on the High Court, Sephardic/Mizrahi history is not seriously taught in schools, and there has been systemic bias against Mizrahim since the establishment of the state discrimination against Mizrahim is a lot less bad than it used to be, but it is still a very real problem in Israel

ok that is just wrong. mizrahis make up to over 50% of the jewish population in israel but the worldwide population is still predominantly ashkenazi

I don’t really get this line of argument, I mean most people in Apartheid South Africa weren’t white, most people in Rhodesia weren’t white, whether or not a state is majority white has no bearing on whether or not it is white supremacist

I mean that was kinda the whole appeal of Zionism to European leaders, that in their view at the time Ashkenazim weren’t as white/European as they were but were more so than most of the people in what at the time was the Ottoman Empire; so antisemitic European leaders would get both somewhere to deport Jews to and somewhere that is more white/European than other countries in the region which could serve as a useful proxy it’s a big part of why a rabid antisemite like Lord Balfour supported it
