so do we live in this fantasy land America where the corporations aren’t already monopolies. i’m just confused as to what local businesses y’all are shopping at, besides maybe farmers markets or your local butcher, that haven’t already been driven out by walmart or dollar general. further, the VAST majority of Americans work for these monopolist corporations who can afford to pay higher wages, holding back the minimum wage only creates more poverty

and if we were really worried for small businesses, subsidy them. introduce price caps so companies cannot offset the cost of labor onto goods, and force them to take the hit. working Americans deserve the right to living wages

Some places still have local businesses Generally tho minimum wage increases are set up to happen gradually, and more money in people’s pockets also means they’ll spend more which boosts the economy
