I find it wild, but the same people on Twitter I see calling to boycott any film or show that has even tangential reference to Israel are now falling head over heels in love with a show that centers a Russian character… The double standard is LOUD.

Heated Rivalry. Gay hockey romance on Crave and HMO. 10/10 fantastic blood adaptation show. I was just wondering if there was going to be backlash against one of the main characters being Russian the way you KNOW there would be if the main character was Israeli.

I mean there was a lot of backlash against random stuff involving innocent Russian people a couple years ago, even ones who were publicly against the invasion of Ukraine The initial reaction towards anything Russian was crazy, remember when the National Mustard Museum removed the Russian mustard? Like the mustard didn’t do anything wrong 😭

The difference is their level of tyranny most of our shit still gets struck down in the courts. You guys also have real issues on your boreds. Like our war crime is double tapping Fishermen going for a swim in the middle of the Caribbean. We don’t have dead children for our news cycle…yet😓
