Because a country that receives a fraction of 1% of our entire budget “owns” our politicians. I’m so sick of these deranged antisemites recycling antisemitic tropes and rebranding it as “anti Zionism”.

He is. Just go google some examples. Like how he talks about Kushner

But to be fair he’s less antisemitic than he is bigoted to every other kind of marginalized identity

Take social security (self-sustaining program) and Medicare out of that equation. Let’s see how significant it is

the budget in 2025 was $6.9 trillion. SS and Medicaid together make up 45% of the budget— let’s make it 50% so the math is easier, leaving $3.45 trillion to work with. of that $3.45 trillion, defense spending is $850 billion, of which $17.9 billion went to Israel. there are 1,000 billions in a trillion, so as percentages that’s 24.5% of the $3.45 trillion going to defense spending and about 0.5% of $3.45 trillion going to Israel. i think most people don’t realize exactly how huge the budget is

These were sources from the Jewish democratic council of America https://jewishdems.org/donald-trumps-antisemitic-record/ and it’s funny how you call out one source but not the other lmao

also worth noting most aid to israel comes with strings— for instance, most can only be spent on buying stuff from American defense contractors. also, if Israel buys a particular item from the US (aka combat boots), they cannot also manufacture their own version of that item— making them dependent on us. and, when Israel develops a new defensive technology, the US gets immediate access and we can start making it for ourselves

and we get access to their intelligence agencies which are deeply embedded in many of our enemies governments. we can also get them to do our dirty work— have Israel carry out a mission that would be a diplomatic headache for the US so they take the heat instead of us
