Hi! im a Latina who’s active in Students Supporting Israel at my university. I’m around a lot of Jewish students & think Jewish guys are very attractive lol. Sorry if this is a weird question, but can Jewish guys date someone who isn’t Jewish ?

Yes!! Some guys will want you to look into conversion though so keep that in mind, but I know many students who have one Jewish dad and one non Jew mom! :)

Yes they can! It’s pretty common, especially in reform and conservative circles. Try visiting Hillel or Chabad on campus

depends on the guy! i think it’s similar to a lot of other cultural groups in that some people prefer to date within while others are willing to date more widely

Under Jewish law, it’s forbidden, but there’s nothing forcing Jewish men to follow Jewish law, so you should be fine

Some but not all; also, Orthodox men are less likely to date non-Jewish women. There is a stigma for many people as within the Conservative and Orthodox worlds, Jewishness is passed down through the mother, so some communities will require kids from mixed marriages to formally convert (basically just a dunk in the mikveh and then reaffirming their Jewishness at 13). Orthodox communities tend to discourage it at all. If you’re really committed to Judaism then you’re of course welcome to hang out.

However, it’s a violation of a negative mitzvah for us to do so

I mean technically its marriage where it’s forgiven in halakha, not dating, but still

also want to add if there’s a particular guy and you are friendly with him it’s not offensive to ask (although might be a bit awkward 😂)

chabad on campus is most definitely not reform or conservative nor will interfaith marriage slide there
