There is a stigma for many people as within the Conservative and Orthodox worlds, Jewishness is passed down through the mother, so some communities will require kids from mixed marriages to formally convert (basically just a dunk in the mikveh and then reaffirming their Jewishness at 13). Orthodox communities tend to discourage it at all. If you’re really committed to Judaism then you’re of course welcome to hang out.
