Social media has been awful lately and I really wanna take a break. Has anyone taken a break before and did it help your mental health?

I promise you it helps. More than you can ever imagine. Get off and don’t look back. I always shame myself for being weak and coming back lol but life is way better leaving it behind

i regularly take breaks and it’s so calming just because i like sometimes being oblivious to things happening around the world. it may sound ignorant to say that but i noticed that my mental health really declines when i see how grim the world is, so giving myself a few days before i expose myself to everything tends to help me a lot and has prevented many mental health crises.

I did it on Yom Kippur (and a few Shabbats since) and have loved it. I’m by no means Shomer Shabbat, but I swear by it!

Or try and find things off your phone to slowly start doing too like coloring, a craft an activity book, legos, etc
