Al Taqiyya isn’t a general license to be deceptive or dishonest, it’s an allowance to conceal your faith or lie about your beliefs to avoid persecution and death. I don’t know the Talmudic reference because I’ve never read the Talmud, but it’s easy enough to just deflect silly stuff like this with explanations of what the Talmud is without trying to drag other faiths into the line of fire.
