he didn't make the laws, the rules, etc. he just spoke on them and debated people on them. he isn't responsible for that stuff and def didn't deserve to be KILLED over it.

i personally don’t think he deserved to die necessarily either but people like kirk are the reason for the diffusion of harmful ideas that then create environments where awful laws get created so he’s a part of this system. laws don’t get made in a vacuum

His wife and kids were literally front row and had to watch their dad get murdered violently for millions to see. Charlie did not make laws he did not harm people he was a political commentator saying what he thinks is right.
