I get that declining birth rates have economic problems, especially with social security, but if we keep up generations of declining birth rates for a while won’t it actually be great for the environment and society as a whole? Less scarcity

Yeah such an interesting point. I think the issue is that it’s hard to take care of such a top heavy population (so many more retired folks than working folks). If increasing technological progress (ai, robotics, smart farming…etc) was in the hands of humanists / socialists then maybe we could solve the issue but given that it is instead entrusted to the most vile capitalists I’m not super hopeful there

If only the old people who are on social security bleeding it dry would cease to exist, we’d be able to see if it’s stable enough for the next generation or if it’s not longer going to be solvent. I don’t think there’s a lot of silent generation still alive out here but boomers fuck are they ruining it, like the generation before silent gen the GG’s paid into a system that some never got to fully use.

Yeah I really think if we had more tech advancements that helped us care for each other we’d be able to sustain so much better. Kinda odd that we really aren’t making any moves in this direction

I don’t think it’s fair to hate on boomers so much for existing. They didn’t ask to be born😭

I’m not, I’m hating on them for pulling the ladder up behind them and then for good measure setting it on fire.
