Does it need to be spotless? No. Do you need to rinse off the excess sauce or food bits? 100%. A two second half assed rinse is just fine. Don’t go overboard. Just make sure to clean out the trap now and then in the dishwasher and you’re fine.

i genuinely clean dishes before as if i’m only hand cleaning them. thennn they go in the dishwasher
