That’s cause when they say ā€œjust come legally,ā€ they really mean don’t come at all because they have this imagination that immigrants are stealing from their pockets. They know it’s damn near impossible to ā€œdo it the right way,ā€ and they don’t care. They’re full of shit but won’t admit it

No other countries allow illegal immigrants? I’m not sure why we should? That’s why we are the best country in the world. And some countries going into their country illegally is even punishable by death. And why would the US not want to collect money on people trying to get their visas? That makes way more sense than letting them in for free.

We give them enough free stuff when they get here. Look at Minnesota and all the money they stole.

This! And no one is talking about how billions tax dollars a year go to people who are here illegally, towards their health care and education, which yes, I do believe everyone (this includes illegal immigrants deserve an education and healthcare) but why are we acting like this isn’t a huge problem? We have so much going on just on US land alone, this is not the time to be letting everyone in

Undocumented migrants are not eligible to recieve US government assistance including Medicare and Medicaid, due to being undocumented, however they do pay their taxes…try again…

Are you r*tarded? BILLIONS of dollars are paid out yearly for Medicaid. Consider SNAP, ā€œemergencyā€ housing, etc too- for illegals alone. Emergency housing is placing these individuals in motels, where taxpayers pay 800/week per person. Obviously-there is a housing crisis, for OUR ppl too.Simple logic deducts it’s not a HUMANITY problem it’s a RESOURCE problem. I make $23 an hour and work full time and I can’t even afford health insurance. It’s making the choice, doom us all- or limit resources.

Let’s stop attacking people’s character for WAKING UP and seeing it isn’t SUSTAINABLE to take care of new populations pouring in, when the people who are CITIZENS cannot survive- much less take care of the next person. Grow the f*ck up and realize it isn’t realistic. I was a social worker and I can promise you the media deflects how bad this issue is. Left AND right come together in this corruption. Stop feeding into it. Look around, they’re leading us into a dystopian future.

Again, undocumented migrants are ineligible for government assistance which includes numerous examples you’ve described: https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/R47318 I would urge you to do more research rather than parrot misinformation that falsely bastardizes a population that pays their taxes without receiving the benefits of it personally.

Also, increase in health insurance cost premiums are partly due to the elimination of government programs such as Medicaid and Medicare for US CITIZENS; with the absence of these programs acting as competition, insurance companies jack up prices since the market is a lot more skewed in their favor: https://publichealth.jhu.edu/2025/whats-behind-rising-health-insurance-costs How about you look up at billionaires and make them pay their fair share so that we can afford cheaper healthcare.

Hey babe? Do something for me. Google how much money is paid out in public assistance to undocumented immigrants. I’ll save you the time, 182 billion. 150 billion when you subtract the contribution of illegals. Again, I worked with these populations as a career. I’m very well aware, by real experience. Not false sources. Funny how you can’t include a source that proves this ā€œineligibilityā€.

Not sure why you would rather be ā€œrightā€ than understand the policies and procedures of the country you live in. There is a separation of federal and state jurisdiction. State funding and local programs are the source, the same way marijuana is legal in NY and illegal federally. How about you research that babe?

You did a great job at proving my point. LEGAL and CONTRIBUTING members of society are being held to a higher financial standard for our NEEDS because of the large disparity in accessible resources. Yall want to save immigrants at your own expense. They wouldn’t do the same for you.

Again, safety net programs are often accessible to undocumented immigrants. If it were accessible, yes I would gladly pay my taxes if it ment families could eat or not be forced into bankruptcy due to medical costs, these people are humans at the end of the day. We cannot continue supporting the THOUSANDS of new populations pouring in daily. It’s killing our economy, and creating a wealth disparity that isn’t sustainable. I’m with you, f*ck the 1% elitist. Everyone says what you THINK is the right thing to say. ā€œThey’re a humanā€ ā€œit’s the MORAL thing to doā€. It’s a classic ethics question. Look at the trolley analogy. Do you let nature take its course and kill the 3 people? Or do you think we have the right to take control and change course to kill the 1 person? At the end of the day, the question is CAN we help everyone? We can’t. This savior complex mentality is slowly killing us as people. I’m sorry, I’m not willing to die or live in survival

But immigrants aren’t the only population that is using Medi-Cal more than the state expected. California’s Medi-Cal population in general ballooned during the COVID-19 pandemic when the federal government temporarily suspended income eligibility checks to keep people insured during the national emergency. Before the pandemic about 13 million people used Medi-Cal. That number peaked at 15.6 million in 2023 The Legislative Analyst’s Office has also noted a 40% growth over the last four years in

Again, California is one of 6 states that provide state funding for non-emergency healthcare (and other public assistance programs). Not to mention non governmental agencies and community supports. It mentions this in the article, you must have missed it. All I am saying is it sounds nice to help everyone. But it isn’t realistic. They are drying up our resources. Additionally I agree that pregnant women on the streets are a horrible thing but we should also not set this up as a trolly problem, there are other methods to get the required funding for both issues.

It is a trolley issue though… you aren’t internalizing what you’re reading. We are in TRILLIONS of dollars of debt. It’s about making informed decisions. Our programs cannot sustain the large percentage of people utilizing them. Hence why I say it you cannot provide a service if it cannot be paid for. The 1% has their hand in these policies bc they profit off the corruption. That’s why I’m arguing if you believe that, supporting immigrants is hypocritical to your values.

We are actively neglecting the people who have needs not met by providing for people we aren’t technically responsible for… hence why I say we can’t just act in alignment with what SOUNDS right. You act in order of necessity and priority. I don’t understand why you don’t see how funding is limited- if they receive a certain amount that takes away from what is accessible to LEGAL struggling CITIZENS.

Medicaid alone was $614 billion annually https://www.congress.gov/crs_external_products/R/PDF/R42640/R42640.13.pdf Medi-cal was $8.5 billion annually https://calmatters.org/health/2025/03/medi-cal-budget-shortfall/ Agian, we are not spending as much as you think on undocumented migrants. And again, we would have more cash flow if we challenged politicians to make billionaires pay their share, we all want welfare programs for those in need but kicking people off should not be the only solution
