if you are familiar with one piece, the concept of sailing around the world with your best friends and super powers sounds really fun, but if you were actually in that situation you’d be evading the worlds most powerful conglomerates at every turn, fighting eldritch horrors and genuine maniacs. and if you can’t see how this comment is relevant ur stupid
The top selling video games marketed towards men are first person shooter games that glorify and depict war and mass bloodshed. No one accuses men of being war loving psychopaths. Personally I think those sexual books are gross, but I’m able to discern the consumption of fiction from what someone yearns for in reality.
Look man, I personally don’t like that kind of content, I think it’s silly and perpetuates harmful ideas. But when you play first person shooter games, are you fantasizing about murdering real people? Do you crave taking the lives of real human beings just because you like playing call of duty?
You agree that the act of killing is not what the game is actually selling. It stands to reason the same is true for sexual fiction. The reader desires feeling wanted and being important to a storyline. The reader does not want to be raped in real life, the same way the player of a video game does not want to kill people in real life.
But you’re saying one is a fantasy that takes place in the mind but women really don’t want in real life whereas I’m saying guys DO want to fight for something bigger than themselves including war. I agree with #6 because he is trying to show hypocrisy. You can search it yourself almost half of women have SA fantasies DO they want it to happen in real life? Honestly if you ask me I think it depends how attractive they the person doing it.
I get what you’re saying and I’m trying to show you that they’re one in the same. What attracts men to war games isn’t them trying to satiate their need for killing real people, it’s the imagined glory of fighting for a cause. What attracts women to these books isn’t them satiating a desire for real harm to come to them, it’s the imagined situation of being desired. It’s imagined, so the situation is controlled and there’s no risk of real harm. Do you see what I’m saying?
I understand but I would have to disagree because for men they admit it and act on it, they play violent physicals ports ,they join the military. Women claim to have this fantasy while also calling men pigs while having SA books and cheating books as their best sellers. I agreed with #9 because for women it’s a fantasy when it’s on paper. BUT I’ve talked to women and seen the studies you can see them yourself a HUGE percentage of women would want it. My only problem is hypocrisy from women.
I can only explain to the extent I myself understand it. Since I don’t personally find those books appropriate or appealing in any way I can’t really do anything more than speculate. I’m not aware of any studies that show a “huge” percent of women want to be raped but as a woman myself I know I definitely don’t want that. Hypocrisy is an issue for both genders on many different fronts. I can’t change your mind but I only ask that you don’t rape women because you think it’s what we want
