Yall don’t understand it takes YEARS and thousands of dollars(if not close to a million)to become a us citizen.and most of the time it’s people trying to build better lives for there kids so they wouldn’t have to live through the things they lived through.everyone here was once an immigrant America is built on immigrants.people should not have to face massive dept, fear for one’s life.and disrupted from opportunity’s just because they made the big decision to live better lives and have a chance
I love America. I think we all need a reminder that we live in the best country, no matter what people do or say. It’s totally reasonable to see why people want to come here. Our soil is the best soil. Our flag is the best flag. We need to put aside identity politics and be proud of what really draws us together; being a part of the greatest country on earth. 🇺🇸🇺🇸#1🇺🇸🇺🇸
it does not cost that much, currently its $760. also please stop thinking this way that immigrants are incapable of coming here legally. my parents are old anddumber than a bag of bricks without having gone to HS and they were still able to come to america legally but yes I do understand that it was cheaper back in the 2000’s but thats just the law and this should be this way for every country.
Here's the thing; our immigration laws have always been designed to keep people we didn't like out. For a while (early 1900s) it was Irish & Eastern European people, then Chinese, now Latin American. The arguments were the same too. They "couldn't assimilate" (Irish people are Catholic!), they take jobs from "real" Americans, they make things more expensive. It was just fine then and it's just fine now. America is great because we can make new Americans!
This is about birth rates. Birth rates ≠ fertility. This most likely shows that diverse communities choose to have children less, not that they're worse at having children. Even if it's even a good, well conducted study (I honestly do not have the energy to check any further I have homework), how is this a point against diversity?? We don't even know why this could be the case.
Also lowering birth rates doesn’t haven’t to be a bad thing. Diverse societies are often more urban, educated, and economically developed. In countries where more women begin to obtain higher education, we tend to see there being a delay to have kids because they have the power and choice to wait, and they choose smaller families as they also have access to contraception :)
Why is this spoken like a 90 year old republican who forgot to take their pills again? America has never been the greatest country in the world. Hello, American history?? Since the beginning, our country has been shaped by exploitation and racism. America was built through the forced labor of enslaved Black people and the violent removal of Native Americans.
Every sovereign country controls entry. The U.S. Constitution gives Congress explicit authority over immigration, and immigration limits have existed continuously since the 1800s. If more migrants come from Latin America, then enforcement will disproportionately affect Latin Americans. That is not racism it’s demographics. Disparate impact matters legally only when paired with discriminatory intent. Courts are very clear on that.
