people who won't shut up about the fact that they don't do sex drugs and alcohol. like genuinely good for you but it's not an excuse to act like you're better than everyone else. making a whole personality out of NOT doing something also makes no sense.

Idk I feel like not doing drugs and not drinking excessively does make you better as a person than those who do (assuming all else is equal)

Um no? Whatever standard you used to reach that conclusion is definitely not objective or universal

I'm fine with that take. People who are reckless with substances are a lot more likely to be reckless in general. But I think it's silly to act like it also applies to people who occasionally drink, smoke weed, or have an average sex life. And I don't think people should think they're superior for something that may make them a marginally better person if all else were equal, because all else is never equal.

There’s a huuuge difference between doing heavy drugs, getting blacked out every weekend, and getting with everything that moves and what you said. The latter certainly doesn’t make you a worse person.

And I'm not hating on sober people, just a very specific minority of them who are obnoxious about it. If you don't partake in those activities, talk about what you actually do then. I feel like they think it's a huge flex that they've never been addicted to anything when in reality they've just lived an easy/sheltered life and haven't put in the effort to understand why other people end up in those situations.

I agree, but I was mainly talking about the latter in the post which is what I was trying to communicate with "everyone else"
