Since we’re still having trouble ill bring the visual aid in. The issue is when we use female to refer to women in the same sentence we’re also referring to men, as just men (or vice versa). Its weird, no normal person talks like that. This is because the difference is that two of these terms refer to biological sex generally (female and male) and the other specifies we’re talking about humans (woman and man).
Exactly! For the people that might not know already (which is totally okay!): Basically, when people refer to a lady as "a female," it can be dehumanizing because it's a broad, scientific term that can apply to animals as well. A lot of ladies prefer being addressed as a "woman" or "lady" bc it recognizes personhood beyond biological category. A lot of guys do this intentionally and exclusively to ladies on purpose to be sexist, sadly. Esp when you don’t hear them call other guys ‘males’. :(
Aw of course! ❤️ tried my best. They might have had a hard time with coming into a conversation where folks engage with their ideas. I feel a little badly for them that they seem to misunderstand that getting structural critique of an argument = getting called “a dumbass” point blank. But yk, what can you do?
When incels talk about men they’ll call them such but refer to women as “foids” because they have issues lol, eventually it got watered down to just using “females” derogatorily with andrew tate and other podcasters of that genre, its pretty obvious what those implications are to me but if you skipped over that I can see where your confusion might’ve came from
