tbh I only agree w/ this if they don’t understand the meaning/nuance behind the words. like those ppl who get Chinese characters tattooed thinking it’s smth profound and really is says some bs like “chicken soup.” but i have “what’s done is done, what will be will be” tattooed on my ribs in spanish bc I like the sentiment and thought it sounded prettier in spanish

It's the fact that it's a permanent marking on your body. I have over 40% of my body covered even. I think it's the principle of getting a tattoo is meant to represent you as a person but how can it represent you if it's a language you don't speak? Ya know?
