I would have to disagree. I have personally met many atheists who have tried to convince me that they are right by using insults and attacking religion rather than giving solid points about why they could be right. Instead, they belittle people by saying things like, “Oh, you’re crazy and stupid if you believe in religion.” The truth is, this happens on both sides.
You’re using an appeal to emotions fallacy. It seems you would rather argue about how evil religious people are rather than recognizing that shoving your opinion down people’s throat is bad on both sides of the spectrum. Accountability is important no matter the side, but it seems you are too blinded by hate to recognize that.
I mean you replied to my discussion where I had said shoving your opinion down people’s throat and using manipulation/insults is bad. Your response to this is to insult religious people rather than give a valid point. The hypocrisy is that atheists constantly hate on religious people by saying they force their beliefs, but it’s okay when you do it right? Do we need to go back to kindergarten to relearn “treat others how you want to be treated”? Lmao
I also think you’re being hypocritical; I had the exact opinion you do until very recently. I think you need to try again at this with an open mind like I had to less than a year ago. Believing in a religion doesn’t make you dumb, it makes you hopeful, it gives you a set of principles to stick to. That being said I’m not religious, but if you can’t understand why someone is then it’s you that’s the problem not them.
