Teachers also have so much to deal with and manage between 504s, IEP, BIP, just say they are hearing aids and we will move on. We have a class roster of minimum 180 students across 6-7 periods. Depending on your school districts schedule.

It’s not that hard to know the clear visual difference between the two devices. I get that teachers are currently overwhelmed, but that is not an excuse for some teachers to harass and even steal medical devices from children because they won’t learn the difference between a hearing aid and an earbud

That’s a poor teacher but they could also be exhausted and overwhelmed. But not all hearing aids look like that and there are beats headphones that look like hearing aids, just say it’s a medical device and the teacher will move on.

Except not every teacher “moves on”. My take is directly targeted at those who don’t “move on” and choose to harass and steal medical devices from their students. Those are the teachers that shouldn’t be teaching, not the ones who occasionally forget or can’t tell the difference in certain brands.
