Saying stuff like "he's gonna be the biggest heartbreak" under videos of pets being alive and well is extremely weird. Why is your first thought "it's gonna suck when they die" when someone shows off how cute their dog is? Can I not be reminded of that rn

I had my two childhood dogs pass away within weeks of each other. I didn't even get to say goodbye the day Teddy passed because I was away at school. Losing a pet is devastating so I'd rather not be reminded of the pain of losing a pet when I'm just showing off how weird and cute my dog is

Random question but are you religious?

See the part where this breaks down is “why is this your first thought” your entire argument rides on that and it’s almost never actually the case that it’s their “first thought”

What’s the closest death you’ve dealt with?

Once you really lose a person close to you, the idea of death will sit much more presently with you. Pets can un/fortunately give people an outlet to engage the idea of death that’s less existentially draining. It’s kind of a vaccine that you get a little bit sick from but saves you from getting into the full brunt of it if you try to repress the idea of death too much

It's still weird to comment though. You don't go onto random people's birthday posts and tell them they're one year closer to death

Okay fuck you, those dogs meant the world to me. Losing them were the worst moments of my life and you're saying it's not as impactful as losing a person? My god you are so disgusting. Just because they were pets doesn't mean their deaths will be less impactful than losing my human family.
