I mean I totally get the autonomy aspect of it. At the end of the day it's a purely cosmetic alteration. Those things should require consent from the one being pierced. But there's also the risk of the piercings migrating and becoming uneven as they grow which I don't think a lot of people think about. While it doesn't happen to everyone, it's very much a risk and I know I'd be pissed off if I was pierced as a child and grew to have them be uneven
