Also don't get a dog that doesn't fit your needs/lifestyle. If you can't take the dog out or give them a place to play multiple times a day, don't get a high energy dog like a heeler! If you hate fur, don't get a fluffy dog like a great pyrenees!!! If you want a pet that doesn't free roam, learn how to care for and adopt a fucking lizard

Literally! When I was a kid I was obsessed with geckos so I learned everything I could about them. I was convincing my mom to let me adopt one and the reason she said no was because she thought the enclosure was gonna be only like 1/4th of the size I was planning on getting.
