yeah first of all you're a massive prick, second of all my question was mainly asking what you think should be different about the way we treat graduating high school. the majority of jobs have "high school degree or equivalent" as a requirement. if you've spent any time outside of high school it becomes obvious that it is treated as bare minimum. so what exactly are you asking to be different?

you're privileged to have parents to teach you that. you're privileged to have access to an education. you're privileged to be able to focus on school. like yeah graduating high school is important but it's not realistic for everyone.

you gotta realize that some people don’t have the home life to support robust academic success. maybe they have to take care of their siblings. maybe they have to work part time bc their parents can’t afford to put food on the table. maybe they’re experiencing neglect or abuse. maybe they don’t have internet at home and struggle to do their assignments. maybe they’re dealing with severe mental health issues. there are so many different life experiences outside your own.

High school is literally the bare minimum… I grew up, always being told to take advantage of it because it’s free. Now I’m in college for a graduate.😘. Just because education is important that doesn’t mean that high school will not forever be the bare minimum.

Homeschooled kids, anyone with health issues that made them miss a lot of school, victims of severe bullying, all might choose to get their GED instead of finishing high school the traditional way. Wouldn’t call any of that lazy…

The only exception in my eyes is someone with extreme health issues. But everyone is can go to school 😑. Getting bullied you can go to a new school.

what if they can't go to another school because there aren't any that are logistically feasible for them to go to? what if they get bullied everywhere they go? what if they're facing homelessness or being moved around too often to keep up with school? what if something tragic happens like the loss of their close family member(s) or their house burns down? what if they have learning disabilities and can't manage the school environment?

do all of those just count as laziness? u "value education" but make the assertion that there's only 1 reason someone would take a different route, and that is laziness. then after hearing other reasons u discount all but medical issues. what i've learned thru my education is that sweeping statements like "the only reason for X is Y" are always incorrect, bc the world is more complicated than the situations any one person can imagine based on their limited experience.

the fact that ur automatic approach to this question is so black & white, and ignores the nuance of human behavior & situations is kind of odd to me. i'm curious what year of college you're in, what you're studying, and why it is that you have such strong opinions on high school? i also invite u to answer the question i originally asked, which is WHAT exactly do you think should be DIFFERENT about the way we treat high school graduation? is it purely that you don't think it merits celebration?

please tell me how someone who’s parents chose to homeschool them their entire lives had any ability or choice to go to public school?
