Why tf is it so normalized to talk about smut books with women you don’t know? I felt so weird finding out every woman is emotionally invested in these books because literally 3 of the women in my life overshared and immediately went into detail

sort of? they cannot bash on men for consuming explicit media, but the smut industry and the porn industry are very different. the smut industry is not nearly as predatory (especially regarding children and teens) as the porn industry. people who write smut are not nearly as stigmatized as people who make porn. smut writers are consenting adults who have a choice, while sex workers are often groomed or forced into the industry by poverty. explicit content is the same, the industries are not

shina and gurjari people in the himalayas who occasionally eat goat meat but do ecological stewardship are as bad as the dairy industry are actually just as evil as the american state’s dairy industry and do the same level and amount of irreversible animal abuse that simultaneously devastates the environment. these nomads cause a longer laundry list of problems, actually.

Like I read fanfiction as a middleschooler and it was a HUGE secret for me, like I was so embarrassed and then stopped willingly because I grew out of it. I cant imagine doing that rn
