hot take we should be able to put down old ppl & have legalized euthanasia everywhere. being 89 with dementia, shitting on urself, not knowing what's going on around u..... what's the point? why is this so normalized. am i the weird one here

Well if it is legalized then they should be allowed to make the choices themselves lol, your wording sounds like you'd be the one making it for them

I actually do see where you’re coming from. I’ve watched family members with dementia deteriorate and life at that point is really just a pain for them and everyone who’s caring for them. It gets challenging to make a law like that because it would need to be specific so that anyone couldn’t just off their mom cuz they didn’t like her anymore. And those elderly people are still living beings. There’s enough controversy surrounding the legality of abortion rn without bringing this in to things😭

good point but what are we supposed to do with the older people/ severely handicapped who cannot speak or communicate or have zero self awareness? do we keep them alive indefinitely? what about the families who are going bankrupt and broke trying to keep alive their parents/ grandparents who arent even really there anymore? i just dont like how ppl wanna keep their dying family members alive no matter what

my stance on abortion is the same tbh. im pro choice and pro euthanasia. if a being lacks consciousness, self awareness, the capacity to live independently.... the ability to abort/ terminate/ euthanize should be an option. no one should be held hostage
