I don't think that's why rape culture is a thing, but frats certainly aren't helping to create a better community

Yeah, unfortunately getting rid of them— which I wholly agree with as fraternities and sororities are incredibly toxic as a whole— won’t fix the issue of sexual violence. That’s something we need to systemically work on. It’s a global issue.

I mean it’s a part of it not the whole thing…it’s more the idea the men can be rewarded for socializing with almost exclusively other men (especially with the purpose of drinking/partying)

I think frats and sororities both shouldn't exist because of a whole slew of reasons, but again, I don't think frats are why rape culture is a thing. If frats disappeared tomorrow, rape culture wouldn't be any different than it is today. Lot of systemic issues to be worked on, but I fail to see how frats cause them. If anything they're occasionally a product of them, but not the root.
