Honestly, I regret losing my virginity. The girl I was with broke up with me like a week later. We only had sex a few times and didn't really get to know each other. She dumped me pretty soon after I felt like trash. Don't feel bad about being a virgin at ALL. If anything I think it's cool
Honestly I think having sex with someone before marriage or discussing it VERY VERY thoroughly is honestly somewhat important to determine sexual compatibility. You'd be shocked at how much nuance there is to sex. I don't judge your decision at all. I'm used up so of course I'm jealous XD
I also experience this #8, and it always really helps to hear other women talk about it so thank you for commenting. Also if you haven’t you should read “Come as You Are”— I only just started it but I already love it and it has made me cry ✅. Good luck and since I’m sure you’ve also been pressured by many men as I have, remember that you don’t owe anyone your pain and you deserve to enjoy your sexual encounters
Gonna be honest I feel like it's kinda easy to know. But guys are so easily pleased. Big things for me in my experience 1. Complete lack of enthusiasm, they don't care much about me or my pleasure. Maybe they'll give an unenthusiastic bj but they don't show enthusiasm via their eyes or touching 2. Lack of movement, they make you do alll the work 3-
I would say 90% of the men I’ve been with have pressured me to have sex/ been immature at some point about me refusing. Rape culture is much more prevalent and subtle than you may realize, so it’s not as simple as “don’t have sex with random men or it’s your fault”. It’s not the woman’s fault if a man turns out to be not understanding.
I am NOT saying that is rape. But rape culture encompasses a lot more than that. It’s a description of the aspects of the patriarchy that normalize rape, violence against women, lack of consent, prioritizing only men’s pleasure, and slut shaming. Guys regularly pressuring women to have sex is not rape but it does come from the fact they were conditioned to not prioritize women’s needs or enthusiastic consent
Not sure I appreciate being downvoted for trying to understand and engage respectfully but I really appreciate your response. I still don't fully understand why those things are rape culture or what that really is but I'm sure that's a much bigger question than yak's character limit allows. Thank you!
It wasn’t me that downvoted 🤷♀️ I’m not sure I’m going the concept justice. Basically what I’m trying to get at is when you pressure someone for consent and don’t care if they are comfortable, it feeds into a culture where consent and whether women WANT to be having sex doesn’t matter as much. But you should definitely look into the concept more if you haven’t heard of it.
