I mean not really unless he means physical space only. Like if he wants to be physically left alone but is still open to communicating and stuff. But if he doesn’t mean it like that, then no that’s not normal. What did he want space for? Did something happen that made him ask for space or was it random?

I’m thinking he possible had or has someone he is interested in and either it fell through or they couldn’t get together - and well him thinking “We’re still close - I’m sure we can hook up this weekend “ and just looking for the physical part.. just an possibility
