Fun fact: A snail’s organs follow the direction of the spiral on its shell. There is a very rare genetic mutation that causes the spiral to go in the opposite direction, called a sinistral snail, which prevents them from mating with regular snails. One such snail was named Jeremy. There was actually a global campaign to find a mate for Jeremy.

They found two. Lefty was found in the United States and Tomeau found in Spain. They were sent to the University of Nottingham and had kids soon after.

Specifically Lefty and Tomeau had kids together soon after. Jeremy eventually had kids with Tomeau before passing away.

Imagine being born with no chance of finding love only to be swept away by what is essentially a god from your point of view. Not only did this god find you, something that is statistically impossible, but finds you two potential mates.
