I would agree with this wholeheartedly but sometimes I steal stuff specifically because it is way overpriced.

Walmart has stolen hundreds of millions of dollars from their workers and the communities that they operate in. The concern should be directed at them first. source https://violationtracker.goodjobsfirst.org/parent/walmart

Why would you steal anything? You know it’s not just some relaxed rule, legally you cannot steal. Especially high priced items. Yall giving this 93 upvotes is crazy. We’re adults. We’re not in junior high stealing from the gas station anymore. So weird. Grow up.

If it’s a small business and you think it’s overpriced, you just don’t buy things there. You don’t steal the items.

It is absolutely moral to steal tiny trinkets from pretentious little boutiques that the owners only run as a hobby, not as an income source, and they think they’re “too good” for your neighborhood. Same with souvenir places that already charged 50$ for an hour’s admission. Vampires.

Then let the learn the hard way and go out of business? Them not being a good shop owner or person doesn’t suddenly make stealing any better? Unless they are mistreating workers or causing genuine harm to your community or people (like unethical sourcing like using blood trades or forced labor) you shouldn’t be stealing just because you dislike how they are running their business

No, I’ve got it all figured out. Stores should stop existing. Money is just paper. Humans just live outside like the other animals do. Complete anarchy. Revert back to monkey.

Stolen from their workers? Last I checked Walmart pays their workers. No one is forcing people to work for Walmart. Also you have little to no understanding of economics if you truly believe mom and pop grocery stores pay their workers better than Walmart. Walmart pays above minimum wage with some benifits because they can afford to often times it’s the small businesses cheating out on pay not Walmart. Walmart doesn’t care when their making 1000s of more sales in one location than small stores

And if you’re going to say that I just explained why Walmart can afford to be stolen from your still stupid. Because that defeats the whole buisness model of Walmart when they’re being stolen from. They lose money they can’t afford to pay their workers better. They can’t sell products as cheap as they would like to. They’re forced to lock up items which has been proven to reduce sells. And than They can’t afford to run their location so they move devastating that community.

Buddy take it from me I grew up in one of the poorest areas in San Diego Ik what destroys communities. Not to mention my father is an economist so I have at least some understanding of the economical implications of what happens when a major fucking center of commerce leaves a fucking community. And I find it funny it’s fucking privileged pricks at Santa Cruz preaching to stealing lil they actually need to

It’s Expensive in California and I grew up in a nice part of the crappy area. But I still saw that stuff. And he mainly stayed for family reasons. He makes like 350k a year for a medical company called resmed. But it’s not ghetto with people shooting each other, except for the homeless. It’s just a poor area, full of immigrants. And it’s great. So he’s actually a really great economist and went to one of the best schools in America. So yes he knows what he’s talking about.
