I was working out with my friend and we were doing lat pullovers. Woman comes up, taps my friend on the shoulder midset to interrupt him, and tells him to stop or he’s gonna hurt his neck. How TF could you hurt your neck on a lat pullover?

Kinda nice she showed immediate concern for a stranger, even if the timing wasn’t the best

You would have to be straining your head back really hard for that to happen. You can’t hurt it from the load of the weight though because the weight never applies force to your neck

I mean moreso if you overarch your lower back/do behind the head pulldowns/have shoulder mobility issues was what I was thinking

I don’t see how arching your lower back could cause neck issues though. Shoulders I can kinda see cause it could cause a tight trap which would pull on your neck but that isn’t gonna be a result of the movement or the way you do it but instead your lack of stretching. Not dissing your explanation just personally I don’t see it

I mean, I appreciate the care, but unsolicited advice is still kinda rude IMO Also, I didn’t mention this part, but both my friend and I are very experienced lifters, and our bodies reflect that. This woman was… not
