so i hate RDLs, like I fucking despise them. dumbbells, barbell, single leg, I hate them all. does anyone know anything that I can replace it with that will actually work and not make me wanna kms?
You could try kneeling goodmornings, you just need some kind of movement where you’re vertical and pushing your hips back (optimally with weight)

i do they’re really good! i just wasn’t sure if they work like a different part of the glute than rdls and like if Im missing something by not doing rdls

Nope! They’re both working hip extension, which is primarily going to target the maximus. You can absolutely get away with just doing a hip thrust

Not really the same, hip thrusts work the glute in the shortened position and rdls work the glute in the lengthened position; both are equally valuable to any glute workout.
