It could be healthy for someone who's obese and has more than 115 pounds of fat to lose

that’s rapid bc it’s 2.2 lbs a week. aim for 70 in a year !

Even if a person is ‘obese’ it’s still really rapid and depending on how it was loss could leave room for it not to be sustainable

2 pounds a week is sustainable if you are overweight. It might not be for you, but it is not unhealthy

that’s literally not true, it doesn’t matter what weight you are. it’s just simple thermodynamics

Physically losing fat isn't as bad for your body when you are overweight, I have no idea what you're trying to imply by mentioning thermodynamics

when you lose weight that quickly, it’s not just fat that your losing. it’s muscle and water weight and it’s not sustainable if you lose it that quickly. and that since is called thermodynamics because of the fat burning process.

Large reserves of fat are literally created for the sole purpose of storing energy. Your body pulls from them well before considering tearing down muscle. Its just simple thermodynamics

People flaming you but you're right lmao. If you're 400 pounds and get to 285 in a year that's not that bad, by the end of that year they're still overweight anyways.

it’s not about the vanity it’s about the science. yes they technically can lose weight, anyone can but it’s not healthy to lose that much even if you’re overweight.

You can lose 1% of your body mass per week and still be healthy. If you're starting at 400 pounds ends up being 50 pounds in under 4 months. Most people who are 400 pounds don't even have to diet hard or do a ton of exercise to achieve this rate of loss. The bigger you are the more you can afford to lose
