I’m an 18 yo female and I’ve been lifting for 2 years and still feel like I have a mid ass physique. First year maybe doesn’t count just getting down the basics but I still just only look “athletic” not muscular or anything. I don’t have much muscle def-

Growth isn't linear. Living a healthy lifestyle is a lifelong endeavor, and even attaining an impressive physique and to continue to build upon it is a slow grind. Be patient, and do not resort to PEDS. Your strength comes from your character, not your outward appearance.

I want to preface this by saying I am NOT sexist: first off, as long as your diet is solid and ur training is consistent & intense, you have nothing to worry about just keep grinding. Secondly, women build muscle (especially in the upper body) slower and have proportionately less type 2 muscle fibers (fast twitch, grow bigger and stronger) than men do. You’re fine though just keep gyming 👍

-inition anywhere and I’ve been consistent and been taking creatine as well. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong? Is this normal for females? My max hip thrust at end of progressive overload is 2 plates each side for 6 reps slow and controlled, and I normally bicep curl 15-17.5. I still have normal sized glutes and not much of a visible bicep when I flex though. Any advice?

it’s normally 3 things that make the biggest difference. diet, recovery, intensity. can you tell us height / weight with calories and protein per day also do you progressively overload and attempt another rep or more weight then last time how do you structure your lifting routine and are you getting 8 hours of sleep?

Just keep getting stronger and you'll build more muscle

I am the same way. I been lifting for 8 years with literally no progress. I don’t even get physically stronger and I work hard as shit and I’m very healthy

5’5, 135 lbs, I am to get at least 100g of protein per day and estimate I eat around 2000 calories per day. Pretty consistent in gym averaging 3-4 days per week, working around a busy college schedule and being more consistent in the summer. I do glute and hamstring focused leg day, then back and bis, then triceps and shoulders, then rest day or quad focused leg day depending on muscle soreness, then basically rinse and repeat starting with back and bis. First year I started lifting I only-

well i think you’re doing really good. it is true that progress can be slow and you may just be hitting a spot where the gains don’t come as easily as they used to. when you lift do you get stronger over time at movements? whether it free weight or machine doesn’t matter much (people will disagree) but if you get stronger with the same form that’s progress. even if it’s a 2.5 on each side more than last week

I used to, recently been just regaining muscle after being sick and out of the gym for 3 weeks and inconsistent with midterms at the same time. But I feel like I’ve been in a plateau for about 6 months or so

well life happens. sounds like you’re just feeling the low of falling down a bit, but you’re catching up to where you where so don’t stress it. fun fact once you build muscle once your body remembers how to build it and builds it faster next time :)

Yeah. It’s lowkey just embarrassing because you can’t quite “tell” that I lift. I just look like I played a sport in high school or smth, and it’s hard looking almost identical to my friends who just started lifting 6 months ago and just not looking like any other people online who have been lifting for 2 years
