Ummm I don’t think retatrutide is what you think it is.. retatrutide is in the same family as ozempic (Semaglutide) and Zebpound (tirzepatide) both of which carry indications including obesity, obstructive sleep apnea, and their other brand names cover type 2 diabetes mellitus. Both current other members of this family are utilized by all commonly. Can you explain your thought process behind this comment so I can better explain? I’m not sure where you’re getting this family of drugs to be affirm

Gender affirming as in taking hormones that are changing your body to be more comfortable

Going to the gym to make yourself more muscular is gender affirming correct. If you feel more manly with more muscles than yes it’s affirming your gender

GLPs don’t affect hormones in that way

It’s effecting your hormones to lose weight which is helping affirm their gender via their physical presentation if you need more explained dm cuz I don’t wanna blow up these comments reexplainging

GLP3’s primary mechanisms don’t alter hormones significantly or AT ALL so try again. And body fat doesn’t always have to do with physical representation. You are not educated enough to speak on this subject.

I think ur getting confused by conflating all hormones to just estrogen and testosterone (the main hormones for gender affirming care). If I’m wrong lmk pharmacy guy but glp1s mimic hormones in your body causing you to feel more satiated and regulate blood sugar. These don’t directly change your sex characteristic the way estrogen and testosterone do. However if losing weight and having visible muscle make you feel more manly, then yes it’s a form a gender affirming care.

Yes glucagon is a hormone, but like you said it’s not and does not affect testosterone or estrogen so it has nothing to do with being “gender affirming.” Stop using semantics just to try and proves point because you know damn well weight loss does not correlate to gender affirming care 🤦

Gender affirming care doesn’t just mean HRT (hormone replacement therapy), it can include haircuts, makeup, clothes, surgeries, therapy, etc. You need to broaden your idea of what is gender affirming. It isn’t just changing the balance of testosterone to estrogen we all have.

Men and women both take weight loss drugs for the same exact reason lmao this comment makes no sense whatsoever

Correct and losing weight can be gender affirming for men and women. Y’all really need to like read up on some things and think critically bruh. I’m not trying to impose a gender binary on glp1s I’m saying that weight loss can be a tool in gender affirming care. If you want to ask questions or clarify things just ask rather than be defensive over something that I’m not arguing

I'm fully aware that a wide spectrum of things could be considered gender affirming care lmao me disagreeing with you doesn't mean I'm uninformed. Just because it COULD be gender affirming doesn't mean that's the reason behind why OP is using it and your comment was based on assumption. Most of the time the motivations behind weight loss on its own are not tied to one's perception of their gender

Correct I shouldn’t have assumed it was but I was also tryna be a little silly hence “yess” “period king”. I didn’t fully mean OP was using it as gender affirming care however when other people aren’t even conceptualizing what I’m saying I was explaining how it is gender affirming. And my b for assuming ur gonna be like the last peeps when I said the “read up on stuff” part. This is mostly my personal campaign to include cis people in gender affirming care so there’s less ignorance and stigma.
