They can work in very specific applications where you want to intentionally atrophy core stabilizing muscles when performing compound movements since you don't have to rely on bracing. This is generally mot a good idea since those muscles are functional and making them weaker over time will make you more prone to injury!

It is to move your organs and soft tissue. Nobody said it’s spot reducing

Plus if you're active outside of lifting, your muscles will engage in those other movements. And wearing a brace long term will make it hard to have stamina for things like sitting/standing for extended periods where your core SHOULD be active
