Need some advice 😞 I am very new to strength training and lifting. I started doing back focused exercises like lat pull downs, seated cable rows. But I’m not feeling anything on my back but I feel it on my upper arm. I’m watching YouTube videos as well😢

it could be what #2 said or it’s also possible the weight is too heavy for your back and your arms are taking over because your back isn’t strong enough to pull that weight yet. you could try to lower the weight and see if that changes where you feel it at all

kinda depends on what you are looking for. but those are generally condo isolation exercises and while you will eventually see some change, large compound movements that get all train the back are gonna do the most

Sometimes your arms just have to catch up, upper back is hard to get sore because most of its exercises involve other (usually weaker) muscles and sometimes genetics can just give you a naturally stronger back, maybe try some pullovers

I had and still have the same issue to some extent- warm up your back with very light weight and do the whole rep slow to start each exercise and it’ll literally take your arms out of it

it also could absolutely be a result of bad form so make sure you’re doing the exercise correctly

100% maybe go with a friend so you can have someone there with a third person perspective
