I’ve heard the walking on an incline helps with losing fat while still maintaining is this true?

If it helps you maintain a calorie deficit it will work. There’s nothing magical about incline walks or any form of exercise for that matter. To maintain muscle lift heavy and hit your protein goals.

Incline walking will allow you to be in a caloric deficit if you’re eating the right amount of calories, which should preferably be equal or less than maintenance. Incline walking will allow you to increase your activity levels while not being as fatiguing as other forms of cardio, thus allowing you to recover more effectively from your lifts.

You maintain because the incline stretches more muscles and tendons in your leg as well as geometrically making the walking take more force/effort from your legs to walk the same distance or same amount of time under stress. So you lose fat like regular but also build some muscle
